Birds Nest Sansevieria

Sansevieria is a genus of about 70 species of flowering plants, whose common names include mother-in-law’s tongue, devil’s tongue, African spear, bow string hemp and snake plant. They are native to India, Indonesia and Africa.

Bromeliad

Bromeliad is the generic term for all flowering plants in the Bromeliaceae family. They are native to tropical and subtropical regions.

Calathea (Marantacea)

Calathea plants are a part of the family of plants known as Marantaceae, which is a species of flowering plants from tropical areas such as Africa. They are famous for their wide, green, colourful leaves.

Cast Iron Plant

Aspidistra Elatior is a species of plant native to Japan and Taiwan. It is known for its high tolerance of neglect hence the name ‘Cast Iron Plant’.

Compacta

Dracaena is a genus of forty species of subtropical, evergreen woody plants grown for their statuesque form and ornamental foliage. ‘Compactor is a smaller growing Dracaena, with small dense foliage.

Janet Craig (Dracaena Deremensis)

Dracaena is a genus of forty species of subtropical, evergreen woody plants grown for their statuesque form and ornamental foliage. Despite being quite ‘tree like’ or ‘shrub like’, these plants are part of the Lily family.

Moth Orchid

Phalaenopsis is one of the most popular orchids in the trade, through the development of many artificial hybrids. They bloom in their full glory for several weeks.

Parlour Palm

Chamaedorea is a genus of 107 species of palms, native to subtropical and tropical regions of the Americas. They are small palms with slender, cane-like stems, growing in the understory of the rainforests.

Peace Lily

Spathiphyllum is one of 36 species in a genus of tropical evergreens. It was discovered in the late 19th century growing wild in Central America. Spathiphyllum are prized for their large white flowers that appear sporadically throughout the year.

Stromanthe

Stromanthe is a genus of plant in the family of Marantaceae, native to the tropical portions of the Americas from Mexico to northern Argentina.

Tall Arrangement

These mixed plants are prepared at the Ambius Nursery. The species of plants in the Arrangement can vary from time to time. They can contain Syngonium spp., Dracaena deremensis, Dracaena deremensis ‘Janet Craig’, Dracaena marginata, Scindapus auerus, and Spathiphyllum.
